What is Topos2Go?

Topos2Go allows you to view and locate your position on topographic maps on your iPhone. You can download freely available maps and store them on your device for use without WiFi or cell access. To try before you buy see Topos2Go Free.

Topos2Go was developed with backcountry hiking and backpacking in mind. Unlike mapping apps that simply cache map data, Topos2Go gives you full control over the maps that are stored on your iPhone. You select the maps you want on your device and they stay there until you delete them. You have no worries about whether or not your cached data will still be there when you look for it in the backcountry.

Locate your current position on high quality topo maps
Maps stored on your device for use without WiFi or cell access
Maps sorted by their distance from you making it easy to find the right map for your current location
Ability to create and edit waypoints
Integration with TopoQuest's site making it easy to locate high quality USGS topo maps including finding maps near your current position and maps near other maps in your library
Ability to load your own maps on your device by pointing Topos2Go to a website containing the appropriate map file

Map Availability: Topos2Go's primary source of maps is TopoQuest which provides extensive coverage of North America including high quality USGS topo maps. You can also direct Topos2Go to other sites with maps. Try Topos2Go Free to see if this app fits your map needs.

Map Compatibility: Currently, Topos2Go supports maps in GeoTIFF format with UTM and Albers Equal-Area Conic projections. If there is an unsupported GeoTIFF map you wish to use, please contact support@cynicsoftware.com and request its inclusion.
